MacNair’s Lum Reek fra GlenAllachie

Master Distiller Billy Walker har været igang med at vatte fade af peated Islay og peated Speyside malt, sammen med nogle ældre fade fra GlenAllachie.

Dette har resulteret i tre blended malts MacNair’s Lum Reek. Der kommer en 12 års blend og en 21 års blended malt og en der blot hedder Peated.
Da Billy Walker, sammen med Graham Stevenson og Trisha Savage købte GlenAllachie, fulgte der to blends med, MacNair’s og White Heather.

Billy Walker siger: "It’s been an amazing year and journey so far and we wanted to mark the anniversary with something truly special. With the MacNair’s range, we’ve re-created the peated whiskies of 100 years ago for the modern-day palette.

MacNair’s Lum Reek Peated er en kombination af first fill bourbon, oloroso, virgin oak og rødvins fade aftappet ved 46% alc.

Colour: Rich Gold.
Nose: Crisp peat notes with barley sugar and dark chocolate.
Taste: Full bodied peat reek, vanilla, barley sugar and tannins, followed by bog myrtle and sweet spices.
MacNair’s Lum Reek 12 Years Old:

Lum Reek 12 years old er aftappet ved 46% alc og er et miks af first fill bourbon, rødvins fade og pedro ximenez casks.

Colour: Copper Bronze.
Nose: Sweet peat reek combining with butterscotch and mocha.
Taste: Lashings of rich peat reek with mature heather notes, bog myrtle, butterscotch, toffee and sweet spices.
MacNair’s Lum Reek 21 Years Old:

Lum Reek 21 years old kommer fra oloroso, virgin oak og rødvins fade aftappet ved 48% alc.

Colour: Butterscotch.
Nose: Aristocratic peat smoke with dark chocolate and fudge.
Taste: Tobacco, leather, cedar wood and waves of peat reek with oodles of cocoa, vanilla, honey and spices.
