Redbreast har for første gang aftappet en single cask, Barrel #30087. Der er tale om et Oloroso sherry cask aftappet ved fadstyrke på 59,9% alc.

Barrel #30087 kommer fra Antonio Paez Lobato Cooperage i Spanien. Fadet er blevet toastet og herefter påfyldt sherry i to år inden det er blevet sendt til Midleton Distillery hvor fadet er belevt fyldt med Single Pot Still Irish destillat. Fadet har så ligget roligt i warehouse i 16 år inden det er blevet aftappet.

Billy Leighton, Head Blender hos Midleton Distillery udtaler: “Being able to introduce the world to Redbreast Single Cask is very exciting, as it celebrates the heart of what connoisseurs love about the brand; its exceptional ex-Sherry cask contribution, our relationship with the Spanish bodegas and respect for the craftsmanship throughout the production process.”

Og tilføjer: “Cask #30087 offers a unique tasting experience, with rich notes of dried fruit, a velvety smooth coffee and vanilla taste with a balanced finish that can never be reproduced, so I hope Irish Whiskey fans will enjoy savouring each sip of this newest addition to the Redbreast family.”

Der kommer 576 flasker af denne aftapning til en pris af ca. £180 hos The Whisky Exchange for £180.
