The Balvenie Peated Cask 17 years
In 2001, David’s curiosity led him to acquire a batch of heavily peated barley from a local supplier and craft a new-make spirit in the usual Balvenie way. David’s intention was never to emulate some of the more smoky malts from Islay, but to explore the impact of peat and American oak on aged Balvenie.

Stock købte destilleriet og fandt så nogle fade.
Stock CEO Chris Heath udtaler: “It was discovered by accident, we bought the business not even knowing it was there.”

Laphroaig kommer nu med en ny aftapning, en double cask 20yo.
Den har i 18 år ligget på hogshead barrels og de sidste 2 år på quarter casks for at give lidt sødme.
